About WZMQ TV 19The BeginningPrior to being known as WZMQ, channel 19 was formerly WMQF, Marquette, Michigan’s FOX affiliate. In April of 2009, the station was purchased by MMMRC and the call letters were changed to WZMQ. One week before the June 12th, 2009 deadline set by the FCC, a “flash cut” was performed to change WZMQ into an official digital station. WZMQ TV Coverage AreaOf the 88,000 television households in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, WZMQ TV 19 broadcasts at full power to 95 percent of them, with plans to grow.
